Things to do
Madrid is a vibrant city with infinity of options and hidden corners to explore. Feel free to get lost in a city that never sleeps and where you can find a tapas bar on every corner!
We are sharing below some of our favourite places but please let us know if you are planning to elongate your stay so we can recommend even more places to visit & eat!

1
Tourist info booths
Madrid is a city that adores its tourists! You will find scattered around the city tons of tourist booths where you can get free information about events, museums, key landmarks, etc. Don't be shy and ask for a map of the city and some advice.

You can find one of these tourist info points really close to the pickup point (at the back of the reina Sofia Museum) here.

2
Museums & Art
- Prado Museum: Madrid is the home of the best Pinacoteca in Europe, the Prado Museum. You will need at least a morning to enjoy the key pieces! Including the best Velazquez & Goya collections in the world.

- Reina Sofia Museum: Huge contemporary art museum, housed in a 18th-century hospital, home to Pablo Picasso's great masterpiece, Guernica. You will also find works of Salvador Dali, Joan Miro & Juan Cris.

- Real Madrid Museum (you can guess who is recommending this one...). If you are a Spurs fan might be a good idea to get the tour so you can finally see a trophy up close :)

Key Landmarks
Atocha is close to the town center for exploring Madrid, just by a short 20 min walk you can get to the city center and have a wander around!
- Retiro Park: our particular "Central Park". This is where Tony got down on one knee, so will always be a special place for us! Weather permitting we would recommend a long walk, find the Glass Palace, enjoy a coffee at an outdoor cafe and if you feel adventurous row a boat on the lake!

- Plaza Mayor: Main square with more than 400 years of history. Just have a look at the traditional shops around but avoid having a coffee at any of the cafes as they are a proper tourist trap!

-Puerta del Sol & Km 0: You will find a plaque on the floor that literally is the center of Spain! Km0 is from where all measurements are taken, marking the official center of Spain.

- Oso y el Madrono: Take a picture next to the statue of a bear jumping up a tree, which is the symbol of Madrid.

- Plaza Cibeles: Prettiest square of the world (Ana's favorite spot). You can find the statue of the Greek goddess in the middle surrounded by neoclassical buildings. If you have the opportunity take the time to visit one of their rooftop bars and enjoy the breathtaking view from the city.

Food & Drink
Madrid is full of incredible places. Don't be shy and just pop in! Always say hi to the bartenders when you get into a place to ensure that you will get a 5-star service!
- Mercado de San Miguel: Ideal for a quick bite. It's a gourmet market with a couple of Michelin Starred chefs, including Rodrigo de la Calle with his incredible paella stall and Jordi Roca's crazy ice-cream outlet.
- Los huevos de Lucio: if you want to experience the authentic but modern food from Madrid this is your place. Best Huevos Estrellados of the world! Must have in Madrid!

- Bodega de los secretos: underground wine cellars with arched booths where you can enjoy modern Spanish cuisine.
